A collection of 3D greyhound figures that through their surface designs illustrate the stories of a dog and the races.
The above images are preparatory tests for these figures created in card. They explore the history of Belle Vue and the story of the dogs that raced there.
In order to create a final surface design I drew out the narratives in ink. These were then applied to various angles of the figures to show how the image could be seen from all perspectives of what would be a ceramic dog.
This specific dog explores my family relationship to the working-class sport of greyhound racing
To accompany each figure would be an identification card, much like one you would receive when buying a race dog. These booklets share the details of the dog's story and what the markings represent.
